I wanted to tell you Victoria, Canada
Or tell myself
And so I thought I’d write it
A poem I’m writing
I’d say to you
And so I thought I’d do it
I felt it so strongly
More, every day
And I knew you felt it, too
A random encounter
A sweet surprise
Turning into my comfort
I had found a best friend
We’d grown so close
With a ferry, in-between
Finally, our eyes met
You’d drink me in
I’d love every sip you’d take
Our most recent exchange
Of the most deep
A poem was written for you
The first I had written
Without a trace
Of a line combining lines
In my heart it was so
No need to write
The shortest poem of all . . .
I love you
